Lyngby<\/p>\n<p>Stallmans intro til pr\u00e6sentationen:<\/p>\n<p>Activities directed at &#8220;including&#8221; more people in the use of digital \u00a0technology are predicated on the assumption that such inclusion is \u00a0invariably a good thing. It appears so, when judged solely by \u00a0immediate practical convenience. However, if we also judge in terms \u00a0of human rights, whether digital inclusion is good or bad depends on \u00a0what kind of digital world we are to be included in. If we wish to \u00a0work towards digital inclusion as a goal, it behooves us to make sure it is the good kind.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Richard Stallman launched the free software movement in 1983 and \u00a0started the development of the GNU operating system (see www.gnu.org) \u00a0in 1984. GNU is free software: everyone has the freedom to copy it \u00a0and redistribute it, with or without changes. The GNU\/Linux system, \u00a0basically the GNU operating system with Linux added, is used on tens \u00a0of millions of computers today.
